Ehh...this place is shite. Fancy chairs and snooty people. A bunch of clueless, but suddenly wealthy, Viets thinking they're stepping up in the world because the sofas have cushions and the coffee is thrice as expensive as it ought to be. I can forgive the backpackers insofar as backpackers can be forgiven. They wouldn't know any better. Can you imagine briefly coming to Hanoi and spending precious evening in I-Box?

I can't quite decide what I think about Balcony. The "history" on the page here makes some sense of it, I guess. It has it's upsides. Watching the traffic on a weekend from the balcony certainly has its appeals. The inside can be pretty comfortable, but I guess the size of it (small) means that everything depends of the crowd that night. That's probably where my ambivalence comes from. Different nights...different crowds...completely different place.

They'll definitely try to overcharge you. Just remember that you're holding all the cards. Everything is negociable. Don't decide on anything too quickly, and get plenty of advice from people who have been here a while.
