One of the better live music venues in town...and I guess it should be given that it's the only true jazz club in town. The music is up and down. There are few players who have some real feel and obviously get into it. It's nice when they're around doing their thing, but sometimes it seems uninspired. I guess that could due to the transient crowd they get. A lot of travelers seem to drop for a peek at what "Hanoi Jazz" would be all about, but if they're not pulling regulars, it seems like they'd lose a little bit of that character that makes a nice jazz club back home what it is. People complian about the drink prices, but they're not that bad...especially when you consider that they are getting quality live music with it. Overall, worth dropping in on regularly, but not worth getting too amped about.

It seems like the German speaking guy shut down his shop. There are still plenty of shops. Just work your way out from the bia hoi corner. Bikes go for around $50 a month. You can get them for less (not much less), but it will take some serious haggling or knowing somebody. Some idiots are paying $80, $90, even $100+ per month and making it tough to keep shops from holding out for ridiculous amounts. Offer $50. Hold to it.
