Great relaxed and friendly atmosphere in a quiet neighborhood near the entrance to the Sheridan. I went here for a chicken burrito for dinner and the next day for a sandwich at lunch. Both meals were really good. The burrito had black beans and chicken with spanish rice and beans on the side. The Falafel sandwich was packed with veggies and hummus in a thin pita.
The meal prices seem a bit steep (up to 110 VND for a sandwich?), but they were very high quality and filling. The drinks seem to be expensive too, but my roommate and I ordered tequilla shots to go with our burritos and the shots were nearly triples!

For those from countries where tipping is standard, and thus service more diligent and helpful, you'll find Bobby Chin a wonderful reprieve from most other restaurants. However, you will pay, and pay dearly.
I've not had service anywhere else in the country as good as Bobby's, but I have been to places quite a bit cheaper with just as high quality food. Luna D'Autunno comes to mind, as do a few other places in Saigon. The menu has a refreshingly different collection of entrees than I've seen at most other western focused restaurants. If I were embassy staff or an international banking mogul I'd probably eat here regularly, otherwise I probably won't be back simply because of price.

Not a bad place to get a quick bite for lunch. I had their version of a Gyros which actually wasn't bad. Unfortunately, it was served on a banh mi but I did see pita bread on the menu so next time I'll make sure to order that. The rest of the menu is massive so I'm going to stick to the sandwiches as they're cheap and have more selection than just burgers and Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches.

Hello, Everyone.
I'm looking for any weekly or daily full court basketball games around the city. If you know of a sports club or just a public court where games are organized please let me know!

I'm inerested in buying a couple tailored suits. Does anyone know some good tailors where I can get a good quality suit? There are so many tailors around that I don't know where to start. Also, what can I expect to pay and can you get wool suits or are they all silk?
Is it possible to rent a dirt bike or touring motorcycle for trips to the north? I know Minsks are the way most go, but I'd rather have something a little more powerful and suited for unpaved roads (especially in the rain).

thanks funboy chow i'll try and check it out on Tues and Thurs if I can make it on time after my last class. I really want to play in some regular pick up games. Hope to see you there sometime. Also, if you know of any regular weekend games that would be great cause I often work late in the evening.
Thanks!

hanoiRob,
This will be my first time on a Minsk. From what I see on the streets in the city they don't look particularly well suited to more questionable road conditions. Do you have experience driving them in the mountains, and what advantages do they have?

If you have an Acer and can do some more asking around, then you're in luck. One of the guys I work with went to the Acer retail shop in town. I'm not sure, but I think it's on Yet Kieu Street. There he was able to get out of them the location of the Acer servcie location in Hanoi. He got great deals on several upgrades including a new DVD writer.
In response to the question: I've searched through the questions thus far, and haven't really found the answer I'm looking for, so hope you folks can help.... The DVD drive on...

Thanks alpha and grubby. I technically will be breaking laws by not having a license but having fun none-the-less. I also found the Minsk club website that mentions Cuong as well. Oh, know anyone who wants to go for a ride Oct. 7-14?
Can't Wait!

I tried to find the same thing when I arrived here several months ago. They can be found but I wouldn't say regularly. I played one night at the Van Phuc sports complex with the RMIT basketball team. They meet Tuesdays and Fridays at 5pm to practice. The first half is practice and the second half is games. I was also told that there were pick-up games with a mix of foreigners and Vietnamese at Van Phuc on Tues/Thur at 7pm but when I showed up one Thur, a middle school team was practicing. I've hear rumors of pick up games at some of the universities in the southern part of the city but haven't looked into it yet. Good luck.
