• I've heard that from this week Sao Mai swimming pool(east bank of west lake) is not opening on weekdays.

  I'm a regular swimmer looking for a big pool where you can do laps without losing your mind out of frustration.

  In sao Mai I came weekdays at noon when the pool was blissfully empty.

  Any suggestions?

• Just spent 60$ on creative travel speakers from the creative shop on Tran vu (Truc Bach).

  Inevitably I've lost them already.

  Where can I get cheap mp3/laptop speakers of decent quality? Any suggestions?

  I tried monteromano's suggestion today (thanks!)-

  -it's a 25m pool (not very wide) on the east bank of west lake.

  -At midday it was virtually empty.

  -It costs 30,000 (same as the much bigger Sao Mai).

  -It opens from 5:30am to 10pm (I think!).

  It's an outdoor pool and from a sign in VN that I couldn't really understand I think it's open till the end of November.

  Got to agree with SoViet who speaks alot of sense.

  TangoLA though I want to avoid generalisations I wouldn't be surprised if it was the uncoolness of the Minsk that your friend was shaking her head about at least as much as the emmissions

  Candide I hear what you're saying but when you live in a country it sucks to be treated so differently to locals especially regarding prices. I can understand squabbling over 5,000 when it's clear you're paying more because you're a foreigner.

  Hi I have Ulcerative Colitis the large intestine version of Chrohns.

  Not sure about Chrohns but UC is pretty rare here.

  I haven't seen any specialist here, trying to avoid the expense.

  A Vietnamese friend who's a GP and has a pharmacy was not any help re. specific meds. He wanted to help me with anti-biotics - a big no for someone with UC!

  So I think you should go to a specialist who's familiar with those diseases. I have the impression a cheaper doctor might try and convince you he knows what he's doing when he doesn't because it may not be a common disease here.

  If you don't already know it www.healingwell.com has a forum for Chrohn's. people are extremely helpful and knowledgeable on it.

  Yes same as all the above - not sure why but it seems to depend on where it's sent from .Got a package from HK no probs and quickly - and you say you got a package from Russia... It's the packages from Europe and America that don't seem to make it- and it might be at the customs stagfe that items go missing

  tell me about it - and the girls/guys working in pharmacies have no pharmaceutical knowledge whatsoever.

  I've asked for a probiotic and been confidently given medication for people who've had a stroke.

  Ironically I once asked for a probiotic and was given an anti-biotic...
