Description:
Hi, I'm I.K., I'm korean and have been working at Ha Noi since August, 2007 and I'll be here at least until July, 2009. Now I'm involved in banking IT project in Viet Nam, I've been met a lot of foreign friends in Ha Noi who speaks various language(English, Japanese, Vietnamese). But I felt something missed or insufficient cause there is no continuous meet up with same interests. If there are someone who want language exchange with native speaker or want to be friends with multinationalities, it's my pleasure to host this community. Personally I'm looking for Chinese who speaks standard Chinese language(not slang). Please feel free to join us. I want to help someone who wants to practice various languages and I want to get some help from someone who can help me. Moreover if we can get together large members, we can make some plan to help Vietnamese. I want to contribute Vietnamese society who wants to learn foreign language for free. Of course multi-language capable members are all welcomed. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Name: I.K.,Yoon (just call me I.K.) ヒロ (Japanese) E-mail: heroyik@gmail.com Yahoo messenger: heroyik@yahoo.com Mobile: 093-650-0707 P.S) Basically I speak Korean, Japanese, English, little bit Vietnamese

Upcoming Events

Multi-language exchange(Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese) has no events coming up in the next month or so.

Yeap. thanks Herb.
last night I met NIC who tries to learn tens of languages at a time. His approach (Hippo's approach) is quite amazing. It worth listening to their theory. It's not a usual study, but playing like singing, dancing, jumping, moving. I am just an amateur while their approaches are so professional and proven. Thanks NIC and I wish you can master as many language as you can.

IK, I left my CD in Japan, since they are very heavy, more than 70 to 80 CDs. But in MP3, I have with me now. Today's technology can make everything whole world true. My USB or SD cards can contain all of them in one piece. When I have my free time near future, you can try on it.
My SD currently has English, Russian, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Thai, Malay, Indonesian, Hindi, Turkish, Arabic, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese,
French, German, Swedish except Japanese. NIC

Nic, really impressive. This is what I really wanted. Would you give a chance to listen to your CD or mp3? I've never heard of that kind of CD or mp3.

posté il y a environ 6 jours par Nic0742228481

IK, I speak mandarin and some cantonese also. The way I do is: Always listen to multi-languages on CD or MP3 or whatever, such as the same stories but in different languages, because the contents are the exactly same you can step by step pick up the meaning later since you know already Korean and English. But the most important thing is you always mimic sounds and do shadowing as much as you can, if you do this repeatedly, the sounds get very familiar to you, and it will be a part of your body. Then the sounds come out from your tongue whatever at the very suitable situation. You don't have to learn grammar nor writing spelling nor sentences, these capability will come later when you feel confortable speaking and hearing sounds of any languages. In Japan, I know many children who speak several languages, like today in German, tomorrow in Italian, yesterday in Korean, the day before yesterday in Chinese. This fact is also true for old people and senior citizens. It is commonly said in Africa or India and any other place, people tend to speak 10 to 100 languages, and there is no limit. One American scientist said every humanbeing has a gift of capabilty to speak about several hundreds of languages if properly motivated in appropriate circumstances. NIC

Nic, would you introduce the mothod you mentioned more detail? Is it for learning languages or for enjoying beauty of human voice?

When it comes to learning foreign languages, you're right. This kind of approach is really popular in Korea. I also believe this is the most efficient way to master foreign language. Listening, Speaking(Repeating), Reading, Writing is the way how every baby learns mother tongue. I like this way, now I'm trying to re-learn Chinese in this way. I think if I can't say, I don't have to learn foreign languages. (It's my personal opinion and goal to learn languages, don't blame me)

Hi there! I mostly listen to about 20 languages like music then my hears get accustomed to the tune of the language wave that each language has. Then a little by very little, the sounds get used to my hears and meaning followed later. I like tones that voices of humanbeing has in the world. This method is getting popular in Japan, Korea, USA, Costa Rica and Mexico now. NIC

My goodness, what happened to this country. People are out of control and they are yelling in the road. I just know they drew the final football match with Thailand. Vietnam won the previous game and today they drew, does it means at last they won the final match?
I remember we Korean also were fanatic about our nice performance of World cup 2002. I think Vietnamese has some special reason to be happy like this (This is more than usual happiness). Anyway congratulations!!!

20th Dec is this Saturday, right? Basically I think TNH monthly meet-up is nothing to do with our group. TNH meet-up is one thing, our group is another. Let's go enjoying TNH meetup just as a TNH member. I think we'd better widen our relationship when TNH meet-up rolls. Of course this is my private opinion, don't be too serious.
