I am a trained dancer in ballet, jazz and hip hop and I need dance classes when I move up to Hanoi! Does anyone know about any dance classes here? If not, I teach/choreograph dance, or if anyone wants to get together to dance... let me know!

There is a western ballet school here. Check the Hanoi Women's Guide for address and phone. The ballet school is in Mai Dich, a little outside the city. The Ballet company is at Ngo 11 Nui Truc (just south of the Swedish Embassy) they don't have open dance classes but could steer you to some other schools maybe. The director is Anh Phuong. Hidden Hanoi has just moved and they now have salsa, tango etc and pilates classes. They may be interested in setting up some classes.

I'm looking for dance classes too. Have always wanted to take hip hop, so let me know too if you end up teaching it.

it's a pity you arrive only now (or later), i had the same problem as yours, didn't find any dance classes or places, besides salsa or ballroom... i'm doing jazz but in couple (swing music). anyway i'm leaving soon, so good luck

There are some really good bellydance classes that are taught by Korean Ara Hoang at her dance studio at 137 Nghi Tam street in Tay Ho District. A card for four classes costs 300.000VND. Tel. 04 7197916

For anyone interested in Jazz/hip hop/ballet I am now teaching at Apsara dance studio 137 Nghi Tam Street near the Sheraton.... beginning jazz/hip hop classes at the moment are Tuesday/Thursday one at 5:30, and one at 7:00! I won't be in Hanoi until July 08, but am really interested in dance classes. Dancing takes up about 4 hours of each week here in Melbourne so I really feel like I'm going to miss it! I do latin, ballroom and belly dancing at the moment, and have done ballet, jazz and tap in the past so I'm up for anything!

I am interested in hiphop/street dance classes. Can anyone recommend a dance studio? Too bad Emily is not here anymore. Thanks!
