Description:
The Hanoi-based Minsk Club has joined forces with CAMA (Club for Arts and Music Appreciation) to present the second Hanoi International Music Festival this year at The American Club on Hai Ba Trung Street on November 22nd.

Once again there will be a spectacular line up of bands on the main stage throughout the day with acts from Australia, China, Thailand and Vietnam. Meanwhile over at the CAMA tent, where you will also conveniently find a fully stocked bar serving tasty cocktails, there will be bopping tunes with guest turntablists from Hong Kong and the UK as well as plenty of tunes from CAMA's very own posse of djs.

All day long you will be able to enjoy a vibrant festival atmosphere with tug-of-war battles, table football matches, face painting, a bouncy castle, a beat the goalie competition and even egg and spoon races.

There will be an international food court with a mixture of Indian, Ukranian, Vietnamese and western grub provided by Highway4, RnR, Tandoor, Budmo and Al Fresco's restaurants respectively and to wash it all down there will also be ample amounts of beer provided by the festival's Gold sponsor Tiger Beer and a wide range of wines available from The Warehouse.

Doors open shortly after noon on Saturday November 22nd at the American Club, 19 Hai Ba Trung street and the music will finish up at 11pm. So come early, grab a cold beer, stretch out on the grass and enjoy a whole day of live music in the heart of Hanoi!

Tickets (including one free drink) cost VND350,000 at the gate or you can pick up tickets in advance or before 2pm on the day for just VND300,000. Advance tickets are on sale from 10th November at Puku (Hang Trong), Highway4 (Hang Tre), R&R Tavern (Lo Su), The Cheeky Quarter (Ta Hien), or Jaspa's (Hanoi Towers).

According to the music blog 20 Jazz Greats The Emergency's electric impulses are endowed with the same "baroque & languid sexuality of Sebastian Tellier's vanilla butterfly soul" and also reminiscent of LCD Soundsystem's early work. This Melbourne duo will be sure to get the crowd dancing with their mix of svelte grooves and bad ass electro funk.

Girl Kill Girl (Beijing, China)

Influenced by everything from ESG to Roxy Music, Girl Kill Girl are all about rollicking and rocking tunes. But be careful, the rather ravishing lead singer Gia is likely to be breaking hearts while she's making her art. Gia was the front man for China's first and most popular rock band, Hang on the Box, but changed direction and formed Girl Kill Girl in 2007.

Ollo's second album The If If showcased their unique brand of melodic electronica and was described by Rolling Stone as a "well crafted musical excursion where you never quite know where you're heading, or where you've just been". Besides their live show the Ollo crew also double up as DJs.

Redtwenty's music is powerful pop influenced with a touch of 90's rock n' roll. Redtwenty's first debut EP was in year 2000, one year before they started to work with Wannarit Pongprayoon of Panda Records. During the period, Redtwenty released several singles and album with Panda Records as they recorded their songs by sending audio wave files back and forth between London, Paris and Bangkok.

7 Days (Hanoi, Vietnam), Digital Offensive and The Van Ho Ba (Hanoi, Vietnam)
One of the capital's most famous rock acts, 7 Days will relish this chance to showcase Vietnamese music at an international festival while two of the capital city's finest bands will also be performing on the main stage. The Digital Offensive's grinding beats and ripping bass lines will have heads bopping, while The Van Ho Ba's funky set will be our 'afternoon delight'.

There will be a relentless and eclectic flow of party jams playing all day and all evening at the CAMA Tent.

Fresh from a tour down under Grum will play a buzzing mix of electro, disco house, and breakbeat. His set is sure to have people bouncing off the walls of the CAMA tent.

Metal Postcard Soundsystem is rotating dj's depending on who's around. For the HIMF it's Sean Hocking owner of Metal Postcard Records and Lars Chresta ( http://www.ollo.net.au/ollobio.pdf ) one half of Ollo. Sounds will be eclectic and genre free and will feature nu disco, dubstep, Re-edits and the odd surprise from 1955 all the way through to 2008 as well as bizarre house, glorious disco and cinematic glory!

CAMA Sound System and all the djs from CAMA Sound system (Hanoi) will be taking turns behind the turntables and you can expect funk, soul, dub reggae, old skool hip and dance tunes.
