Excellent. Hole in the wall, basement feel. Restaurant area and quaint bar. Indie music and English books to borrow. Red brick wall and comfy chair.

I passed here one night... but keep my review after this time when im typing this comment !
So many times I go cross this street, saw so many coffee shops and just stop some not all ! I saw the name of this coffee shop and just think " Oh ! Funny name-Easy to remember ! ". That's all !
One night my friend took me here for a " suddenly drink " ! Too many ppl go and out that night, so I couldnt actually have a look of this place ! kept it on my list, for sure ! But the cocktail was good ! Didnt remember the name but the thing they gave me quite strange but taste good !
Today, no alcoholic, totally awake ! I can give this place few good words !
Decor : classical ( remind me some place like Nola and Puku ! ). Multiple choice of chair. I like that ! Warm light, some interesting frames, cute table menu ( actually it looks like a lamp. ^^ ). The 2nd room inside is bar, decor simple, not much, but its ok !
Drink : cocktail in my point : strange but taste good. Solf drink : good and price is lovely !
Food : served Western and vnese food. ( both vnese and english language are all translated ! )
Staff : friendly and carefully ! The waitress served me today she is beautiful with her smile always available ! ^^
I give this place 4 stars, cause the music was not good twice times I've been here !
I definitely will come back here for sure ! Maybe sometimes need s.th out of noisy but not too quite in the afternoon, good choice will be here ! Keep going " Tadioto " !

One of the best bars in Hanoi – my new favourite find!

Tadioto attracts a really interested bunch of people, including expat regulars and many local Vietnamese artists and bohemians, which leads to an eclectic mix of punters.

I love the decor and the vibe here. There are 2 separate rooms, so I recommend the one at the front if you want a quiet intimate drink and a chat, and the one at the back if you’re feeling sociable and out to meet new friends.

Conversely to the last reviewer I had a very interactive evening, where different groups of strangers, both expat and local, chatted easily across tables to each other, then in fact joined groups and became great friends by the end of the night. It was a really fun evening and lasted well into the small hours.

I don’t really know how to classify Tadioto. In a sense it is similar to a lot of cafes in Hanoi. People call it a bar, but it is not really designed to facilitate interaction between different tables. It has an intimacy that feels more appropriate for two people or a group of close friends. And yet for me it also feels oddly similar to the bohemian bars in Barrio Brasil in Santiago, Chile. It could be the diverse clientele here that gave me that impression. You have the young artsy students, but you also have older folks here and they all seem to belong to the place. It’s not like certain places where people can look out of place if they don’t belong to the majority. However you want to call this place, it’s a great spot for a drink and to meet your friends. There should be more places like this in Hanoi.
