The New Hanoian

Finally! A bar that is not sleazy or crowded or suffocating or filled with show-off teens!

I really like this place. Plenty of seating spread over the various floors and rooms. Very, very friendly and efficient staff. Well priced. Draught lager nice and cold. Always people around, plenty of interesting conversations in the main bar. Good mix of expats and Vietnamese folk.

Headed over to this Tavern after work on a Tuesday. Upon entry there is a sizable eating area with numerous tables . This area is separated from the Bar in the back with a glass threshold. I Bye-past the tables and head straight for the bar where I was greeted by the friendly staff. Ordered a beer and received it stat without missing a beat. There were quite a few people sitting at the bar mostly expats but a few local peeps from Hanoi. Ordered the Beef Tacos upon a recommendation and was not disappointed at all. I will definitely come back and try some more of their dishes....and drinks. The only bad point about this bar was the music selection was a bit lacking...there is a computer set up in the bar area and you play some selected songs from the hard drive. If they updated the music I could definitely make this place a regular haunt.

Lots of westerners there. Which is not a bad thing, i was just shocked to see so many.
I have been in Vietnem for a bit now, and one of the things i do miss about America is the late night tacos you can get. Since being in Vietnam i have not had a good taco, until last night! The tacos here are great, so order the taco dinner. Staff was nice and we had a good time laughing. But don't go here if your looking to meet any skirts to hit on.

This place is a steadfast expat hangout, and deservedly very popular. It's THE place to be on a tuesday night, when the trivia teams descend for the pub quiz night. It has become a core part of my social calendar in Hanoi, and R&R is an excellant host.

The food has always been excellant, highly recommended are the Pizzas and Quesadillas. There is a cozy bar at the back, into which we all have to cram after the pub quiz finishes. It can be abit cramped back there, but that just makes us mingle more, which is always a good thing!
