Fun expat hangout, great place for bumping in to people and making new friends. It’s a small bar with a big personality. Think wine bar rather than student pub, so probably won’t appeal to the teaching community out there who’ll probably deem it to be too expensive, but for the rest of us it’s a great one to add to your regular haunts list.
Nice decor, staff are friendly and service is great. It’s got just the right combination of being lively yet laid back at the same time.
I would have given 5 stars for the bar HOWEVER they also call themselves a “restaurant”, and this is stretching things a bit far. Whilst food is good quality and tasty, it appears to have been magically shrunk to a size that would only fill up pixies! I thought someone was having a joke when my main meal was presented! It’s ridiculously expensive for what you get. Come on guys, sort it out. The size of those dishes wouldn’t even satisfy a small Vietnamese child let alone a fully grown expat!

Jo Jo's swings between a trendy wine bar on a good day and a overpriced, pleather cave on a bad day.
The menu is pretty unique for Hanoi and definitely for the Al'Frescos group. Jazzed up pizza's, burgers and mexican with a nice wine list and a decent cocktail. The problem is that on a good day these items are great with unique flavors, but sometimes it tastes like al frescos with random extras.
The atmosphere is nice, although during the day the cheapness of the material shows. At night decent/ dim lighting with music (sometimes) and polite staff.
The management changes frequently sometimes for better or worse. Events promoting liquor can be a good value here.
I think you should try this place once and make your own opinion. Bring plenty of cash, drinks aren't cheap even for water, soda ect.

Really nice atmosphere, and lovely decor.
Damn expensive, why do they only serve Laksa water (for 36,000)?
Yes, they have a reason to be expensive, but there is no need to be serving "better quality" water.
The bathroom is far too close to the tables, plus the lock on the door doesn't work well enough, so a woman got a sure fright when a strange man opened the door on her.
I would go back if I was feeling rich (or someone else was paying).
