This place is filthy. No excuses. There is no need for this place to be the dirty sh-t hole it is. I have had bum wees for a week after eating here. Just because its sooooooo authentic and all the cool, keeping-it-real-language-teacher types love it doesnt mean a god damned thing. Im gonna get my mum to go down there and tell the f-ckers to clean the place up

Chicken street is one of the most relaxed and fun places to go for a meal with a few friends in tow. Most of the chicken shops are of a high standard and the chilli sauces and cheap beers are fantastic. My favourite place is the first one on the left hand side. The woman that's owns the restaurant is always friendly and the chicken there has never let me down. Obviously not a spot for vegetarians but then again that should be obvious enough from the name.

BBQ
I love this place. My favourite is the last one on the left.
Although my favourite is not the chicken, but the BBQ sweet potato, well worth a try.
Chickens lying in bowls and buckets by the road, chefs with fags hanging out of their mouths. Not a place if you concerned about health and hygiene.
A good place to show visiting friends and family with strong stomachs

Ly Van Phuc has become one of my favourite little streets in Hanoi. I usually patronise the stall right at the end of the alley.
this is the place i bring visiting friends to experience the whole street side eating thing.
the pickled vegetables are really nice and all the food goes really well with the chilli sauce they provide.
in addition to bbq chicken, they also have pork ribs which are definitely worth trying.
i still haven't made sense of the pricing system yet and most of the time i think i am getting fleeced but i guess it's part of the experience. will prob try getting a price breakdown when my vietnamese improves.
