I don't know if these people are talking about the same bar. The lighting would have been innovative in 1983 and from one position had a similar effect to looking directly at the sun through binoculars.
The music was generic dance shit and the atmosphere was non existent.
On the plus side the bar staff were friendly and the drinks were o.k.
