I must plus more 1 star for Wanted right now, the bartender was grown-up more after a month open bar. Possible they was training well from their charming lady owner.
If you went out late and need a place where drink then Wanted opens very late. They have convenient more another bar cause lady owner has relative who work in Police station of Old quarter. Nice solution for alcoholic man overnight.

A best place, top quality of Vietnam with good service and professional tailor, they are creative alots styles. Really trendy man if you are cover good their quality and of course your pocket must be paid pricye.

There was designed by English Architect, I'd like this style with stuffs decorated following Europe. It has spacious therefore usually busy at noon. Nice place with wifi for carrying laptop and enjoy meal (Salad is good).
Best time is quiet after 1:30 pm, I like this place, why not 5 stars.

I had spent many times this restaurant for Lunch & Dinner also. I introduced to some foreigner friends tried there and most of them like it. This restaurant is always crazy busy, If you go there not fit time then you must enter your's name and queue. My experience wanted getting a seat comfortable there for lunch then out 1:30 p.m and for dinner out 8pm. That time will give you a seat no necessary for waiting.
Really there is many tradition Vietnamese foods, almost of many people was dazzled their eyes and confused what they dont know to choose in front of menu too many foods.
what a best seat outside, courtyard, can see many tiny store foods in one of food will order, interesting more if you want to travell and looking around what they are selling.
Nice place, strangeness, interestingness for foreigners really want to have concept about vietnamese foods.
I really prefer with started " HOT PLAIN FLAN" very yummy.
However there is very noisy, many sounds, laughing...then you must tried to shout too, if you must be sat inside house then it is not comfortable.

Pizza is not best here, really Pizza did not make me interested in including salad, they have a poor menu,I think Chef is not expert.
I was too surprised with price of big bottle Tiger beer just $1.9 cheaper than a cup of hot tea $2.2 here. Too funny.
But this place is nice view and popular for tourist. I prefer with Pizza at La Terrazza more.

Its very hard to find a VNese teacher with south voice here. I was born in the south of VN, now have been living here for 6 years. I recognized that Hanoi is standard voice of VN. If you live here and speak south voice then difficult a little for you conversation with someone. I can convenient speak and listen both voice but in fact I have already spoken Hanoi voice.
I am not working as a teach but If you want then I can help you practice with South dialect for free (not nessessary paying), just in during the time you look around a south teacher.

Old quarter on Hang Thung street at store of fat women, opening at 6pm everyday, fantastic seats for foreigner studying mood enjoy yummy spider carb, tiger prawn, snails, clam...will be amazed with sauce for seafoods only available Hanoi.

Have you tried to eaten some foods in Hanoi on the sidewalk yet? That is not like a store or shop, they have chairs on sidewalk for customer. If you come to Hang Thung street then you will see a place where i said they are always busy most, no number for this store. That why they start opening at 6pm in front of another store closed the door.
The price for a big spider crab is about 100,000d (they have 2 kinds of crab, but i like big one with red white colour, yummy), a big prawn about 50,000d or 60,000d, snails and clams are about 30,000d a dish/bowl but perfume snails are expensive more. They cook grill and boil seafoods with sauce for crab is very yummy, and other kind sauce including salt + pepper + lime + mustard, whatev you can choose
That price is not cheap but cheaper than restaurant.

First you must think about ur self what do u want at them? you are accusing a problem that are happen in over the countries, its not only in Hanoi. Let try to smarter, protect ur self and find a right one for you better you are thinking a place educate for them. I think you need a education for your self ahead women.

last year I had been to Tam Coc for one day, yep its expensive with private tour, I had open tour with a mini bus 16seats they took you visit pagoda, temple history listening tour guide talk about Ly Thai To King...if you want to bicycle tour about 10 or 15kms near Tam Coc then you must pay extra $8-$10. Not sure the price right now. And afternoon they have tour to Bich Dong cave, you will enjoy with a junk for a couple big western ass, vietnamese then 3 people on a junk...fun. Having about 1 hour more for travelling on the river looking around nature hills with local boatman speaking English alittle. But they will try bah bah bah something souvenir wanted selling. No tour guide follow group. They will drop u back where you start tour guide waits for you and bus. the end of a tour, back Hanoi. Almost western people join this tour.

I think the first you can do best for youself and your landlord that you are informed to him about ton seriously electric cables hanging on poles, and requirement he complains with power firm who must fix all cables near your house, ensure they wont fell down, keeping structure of pole can capacity a mass of cables, protecting for everybody around that place, special near kids school.
I notice you one thing, for some new urban projects of Hanoi they did care for power system going underground cables and they have a management unit, protecting server for customer there.
I agree with you that dangerous from broken cables on the street in the old central Hanoi right now. And you,we just could do best support what happen existing near us.
Hope you and your landlord can help this problem sucessful for your area.

A grand post office opposite with Hoan Kiem Lake, better you bring gifts, wrap paper or box if necessary to there. You let them see what stuff you want to submit then they check a few time (just looking around hopefully nothing sexual...lol), so you can wrap afterward them say Kay. There has something tape glue etc support for ur gifts.
