about the venue: Khazaana

Full Moon 2008

I have been visiting Khazaana regularly for the past 5 months.

I have never had a bad meal.. in fact, I always leave the restaurant in a state of utter bliss.
• The menu is huge. Includes both North and South Indian. It has been a real treat to try new dishes.
• Gobi is the man. I greatly appreciate his warmth and recommendations.
• At 110.000VND, I think the meat Thali (dinner) is filling, delicious, and well-balanced.
• The monthly buffets never disappoint
• Their cheese naan is sensational

As friends come and go, I sometimes can’t imagine life in Hanoi without Khazaana (haha).. fine, that was an exaggeration…

In response to a reviewer below..

The coffee is an Indian instant.. it says so on the menu. Admittedly, it’s a bit different to the usual stuff. But tasty none the less..

Enjoy!

about the event: Pasta Night @ Matchbox @ Matchbox

Full Moon 2008

I can vouch for the:
-fresh ravioli with spinach and ricota fillings

and

-fresh gnocchi with seasonal vege in tomato sauce

So tasty. It's worth checking out. I'll be back for sure.

about the venue: Matchbox

Full Moon 2008

I went to Matchbox yesterday for the pasta special.

I was overly impressed with everything.

*-I didn't get sick
**-homemade ravioli and gnochi(sp?) were excellent. Cooked to perfection. Best pasta I've had in Hanoi. My cafe sua exceeded my expectations.
***-The staff was friendly and the food preparation was reasonably quick.
****-very smart/modern looking place. Calming colors.
*****-I haven't decided about the other days, but their weekly specials are a great value.

I'll be back.

about the venue: Uzbekistan Restaurant

Full Moon 2008

I haven't been to another Uzbek restaurant, so I had a hard time comparing it.

The place is down the road on the same side of the street as the australian embassy.

We were the only ones there as I could see. That being said, service was great.

Between us we had the spare ribs, a kind of meat/vegi platter, dumplings, bread, and a dish like chicken kiev.

All of it was tasty. It's hard to criticize anything because I'm not to sure how things are supposed to be.

The soup (although little meat) was very flavorful and a nice change to pho. The thick bread made a nice combination.

I think it's worth checking out.

  • Hello everyone,

I need a new bicycle tube for my mountain bike.

Who can tell me where to go?

    It's a pretty standard 26"x2" tire.

    Thanks again.

  • A friend and I are considering participating in the Singapore Marathon in early December. Anyone out there want to join in?

Currently we have been running about twice a week for about 45min near West Lake. The guy I run with (Cedric), has finished one before, seems to think 3 months is ample time to prepare.

If it doesn't happen.. fine. Still good to get a bit of exercise and meet some people with common interests.

OK, have fun getting through the day and see you out there. -A
