Description:
DJ’s and producers Andi and Hannes Teichmann are considered important representatives of German electro-culture. Goethe-Institut presents the well-known duo in Saigon and Hanoi as part of the EU Music Festival.
The brothers Andi and Hannes Teichmann, born in Revensburg in 1976 and 1979 respectively, discovered a love of music at an early age through their father, the jazz musician Uli Teichmann. When they were aged 9 and 12 they founded the kiddie punk band “Total Loss”. In 1997 they created a new music project: the electro-rock band Beige GT, which won national and international acclaim in 2001 with “Jukebox Heroes”, their first album.
Their passion for digital music finds expression in their work as producers of electronic sound. They also have their own label: Festplatten. As DJs they tour successfully in Europe, Asia and America. In 2002 they were awarded the Culture Prize of the City of Regensburg, becoming the youngest recipients of this award in the city’s history. In the same year, together with other musicians and performance artists they founded the association Graz e.V, which has since offered inspiration and a platform for cultural events of all sorts. The brothers also established themselves as remixers for the media group Telekommander, among others. In October 2005 Andi released his solo album “Fades” to positive response in the electro scene. 2007 the pair released their first record together. The Teichmann brothers live and work in Berlin.
