AusCham welcomes members and friends to a business luncheon with Mr Raymond Mallon, an Australian economist who has lived in Hanoi since 1991.
Raymond Mallon has worked as an economic adviser in Viet Nam since 1988 (initially with ADB). He worked as Resident Economist for UNDP from 1991-93, and as a World Bank consultant from 1993-95. Since then he has worked as a freelance economist, and have undertaken assigntments in Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Fiji, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. A strong focus of this work has been on regulatory and institutional reform. He continues to publish applied research including ”Viet Nam: a transition tiger?” – published by ANU’s Asia Pacific Press Press in 2003.
