A guided tour through the exhibition with the photographer Wolfgang Bellwinkel. Saturday, 19 January 2008 at 4 pm! For the photo agency OSTKREUZ (www.ostkreuz.de), the end of a divided Germany was the beginning of a success story. Founded in Berlin in 1990, it is today one of the most important names in photo journalism in Germany.



For the group exhibition “Deutschlandbilder”, the agency’s photographers went in search of today’s Germany. The resulting photos are a colorful panorama of the state of the German nation, a vibrant reflection of everyday life. Selected works from Anne Schoenharting, Ute Mahler, Wolfgang Bellwinkel, Jordis Antonia Schloesser, Thomas Meyer, Annette Hauschild, Sibylle Bergemann und Linn Schroeder are now on a world tour presented by the Goethe Institut and include images of Sunday rituals, active seniors citizens, the typically German concept of ‘Heimat’ (home or homeland), holidays on the North Sea - snapshots that tell stories, funny, sad, complex… In short, the various series sketch a timely picture of German mentalities and states of feeling, sensitively analytical rather than preaching.
