move to hanoi - what district??
no photo available

I'll be moving to Hanoi in a couple months time and was wondering whether people could give me some feedback on the nice districts in Hanoi. I'm 28, male, single and prefer living in an area that is close to where the action is. (so no boring expat-only communities where people (or their maids) walk their dogs at 7pm. Work would be around VietcomBank tower and proximity to that would be nice.

Any advice would be highly appreciated. Have only very limited knowledge about Hanoi at the moment.

Cheers

I would recommend Lenin Park area which is where I recently moved to. I used to live in Truc Bach Lake area which is also nice but I prefer my new home because it's more convenient. I'm 5 minutes from Vincom Towers if I ever want to catch a movie at the cineplex there and only 20 minutes away from Hoan Kiem Lake/Old Quarter. Plus Lenin Park itself is gorgeous, the residential areas adjoining it relatively quiet without it being suburban like you may find West Lake (heavily expat) area to be.
