I found a place near trang tien plaza.. walk to the right of the plaza and its on the same side of the road- english language movies and shows are upstairs and they have everything!! :)

I usually go to the Victory CD shop in Hang Bac street in the old quarter. It has a lot of selection including the latest releases, popular TV shows, old classics etc. people there also speak a little English-that is handy if you are looking for something specific. For me, what I also like is that it also has a selection of foreign language movies. I also go there to buy Bollywood movies and songs. Good luck.

Yeah, Victory is a good shop. Of course, don't expect really amazing quality. I bought a series there, and it seemed fine, but then I got to the third episode; it was nearing the climax and suddenly it cut to the next episode. You get what you pay for, I suppose...

Best to just wander down Hang Bac, there are several shops there now. Hollywood is another one.

I second the answer about Victory. The good thing about them is that they do not try to cheat people and if you ask whether or not a DVD is good quality, they will be honest. In fact, their standards of what good quality is is quite high. I recently bought a DVD set that was only "ok" according to them. While the menu is a bit problematic, the picture etc. has been perfect. There is also a good place on the little street with all the restaurants that's between the Cathedral and Hoan Kiem Lake. (Sorry, I can't for the life of me remember what it's called).

That would be ngõ Bảo Khánh, lcobb02, home to Fox Music and DVDs (who reputedly do their own copies, meaning they have a huge selection, but the quality of the media can be a let-down) and Hollywood video, which has good presentation and good quality, but fairly poor selection (so I hear).

This is all hearsay, of course, as I don't support the terrorists by buying stolen intellectual property.

Star DVD on Dinh Liet. Big slection of current and classic, and a tv upstairs where they are happy for you to test your selections for quality.

Hollywood on Bao Khanh Street and the one right next to the alley leading to Cinematheque on Hai Ba Trung.

Victory is really extensive, but if you're looking for your generic movies/TV shows/collections, the one at the corner just west of Victory (right across from the shoe street vendor) has cheaper prices.
