Phone/text repair

For some reason, the text messaging function on my Nokia phone has stopped working. I can receive, but not send them. Does anyone have any idea why that would happen or, more importantly, what I could do to get it fixed?

Most likely your network setting was reset. SMS is delivered via a specific service center phone number so if your phone contains the incorrect info, it'd not go through. I suggest taking it to the customer service center of your provider. The Mobifone CS is located on Dien Bien Phu, past Luna and before the roundabout to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.

G'luck.

One time, my phone also could not send
messages. After deleting sent messages in sent box. It works again. So you should delete and try to send.
Good luck

I had the same problem a few times. I have Mobifone. I went to their office near Vin Com. They were very helpful and had it fixed in no time, each time I went. It's their problem, not a problem with your fone.

I have had this problem several times as well. The first time it happened, I took it to a Nokia service center, and they fiddled with it for a while, popped out the SIM card and put it back in, and voila, it was working again. I think this has the effect that AnhChep mentioned above; it seems to reset the SMS settings to factory default. Now every time this happens I just slide out the SIM card and put it back again and this seems to do the trick.

Why does this happen? I'm not sure. Perhaps when the phone gets bumped around the SIM card is unseated; or perhaps there's something else going on.

Cheers

Thanks so much for the help from everyone. Just taking out the SIM card and putting it back in worked ... what a mystery!
