Incidentally, does any one have an idea of the size of the expat population in Hanoi?
Another one of those 'just wondering' kind of questions.

I have heard that there are approximately 7,000 expats in North Vietnam. There will be some people working in connection with factories outside Hanoi (Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong etc, mainly Korean and Japanese). This would make the number of foreigners living in greater Hanoi at between 5,000 and 6,000.
