Hi Travelgoddess,
I don't know if Argentine Tango is of any interest to you, but I'm teaching a regular tango class every Wednesday with the Hanoi Tango Club at Quan Hoa Hotel, Number 20, Ngo 165, Cau Giay Street, 7:30 pm - 10 pm. I've also been invited to help out with the New Dance tango class, Mondays at Quang Trung School, 91 Tran Quang Dieu street. There are two regular tango milongas - one is with the New Dance club, one is with Hanoi Tango club, usually on alternating Sundays.

Or try Creative Movement class at Apsara Dance Studio, 137 Nghi Tam, Hanoi. Register at vn.creative@yahoo.com or call Ly at 0904 666 002
"Creative Movement" is based on the concept of modern dance that each individual is unique in their movement potential. In the workshop, participants are encouraged to unite spiritual expression together with natural movement, at the same time artistically explore their body movement in relation with others (partner, ground, object, sense, emotion...).
A workshop contains warm-up exercises that inspire the students to "come out of the box", for eg. last workshop we created a "ritual" dance with the theme "a break from work" where participants created their own "ritual movement". Or in another warm- up exercise, we tested how many ways one could move across the room (crawling, rolling, walking, ..etc...).
After the warm-up, a "theme" or "an area" will be introduced to the students for further exploration, for e.g "gravity" or "trust" or "expanding and contracting the body".. and students will have opportunities to work in pair, individually, or as a group.. to create an "art work" as the result of their exploration.
After all, the main emphasis of "Creative Movement" is on individual bodily expression and artistic freedom.
Participants come from various background such as: architect, school teacher, mothers, dancers, painter, university students. . Each workshop has maximum 16 persons (60m2 dance studio). The class is on-going, and each workshop is warmed up gently that it is suitable for beginners to join any day and for "experienced" people to still find challenges and new exploration. Instruction will be in Vietnamese and English.
Each workshop has maximum 16 participants, and to keep track of this, the registration requires purchasing 4 sessions (500,000VND, valid for 6 weeks and the student can flexibly join any 4 out of these 6 sessions).
