Taking money out of Vietnam the old-fashioned way.
I have another question to ask to you wonderful people. I'm leaving Vietnam very soon and I've saved some cash here. I know I can try and transfer the money through a bank or maybe Western Union, but what about taking it out physically through customs?? Does anyone know how much I can take out by hand? I've searched some websites and have come up with results like $5000 or $7000, so does anyone know how much it is??

Islamic Community/Mosque?
Does anybody know when the Mosque on Hang Luoc is open? I went there at sunset today (Friday) but it was closed. There must be some other Muslims in this town, but where? Any info about the Mosque hours or about Islamic community contacts or events in Hanoi (if there are any) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and Salaam!

Mi Quang? Cao Lau? Anyone seen these noodles around Hanoi?
Know if any restaurants in Hanoi are serving Mi Quang or Cao Lau? They're noodle dishes from central Vietnam, near Hoi An. Went to a Hue restaurant this week and struck out there. I need a fix!!

Hassle-Free Banking
Can anyone recommend a hassle-free bank where I can start a bank account (either dong or dollars) and make deposits and withdrawals without showing documentation of the source of funds? I know they change their policies so I'm looking for current info. I'm finding that the reputable int'l banks are too strict but the Vietnamese banks can't communicate the terms of the account well enough in English for me to feel confident that there's not some hidden catches they just don't know how to explain. Suggestions?

Computer with Functional Cd Drive
I can't find a computer in an internet shop with a functional cd-drive. Maybe I just have bad luck. Or is this the norm? Can someone recommend somewhere I can use a public computer where I can access files from cd? (Or somewhere that can make me a duplicate copy of the cd?)

Receiving packages from the US
Hello there,
I had some family members send me a box of books over 3 weeks ago using US priority mail. Still no word of the package...
Anybody have an idea of how long it usually takes to receive a package? Any hassles that I need to deal with in order to receive it?
also, half the books were new from Amazon-- will I need to pay anything extra tax etc. for the books?

Rock Climbing
Hi all,
I was wondering if there is anywhere to go climbing around Hanoi. Mostly intersted in indoor but if there was some nice (well-bolted) sports climbing in the surrounding countryside I would be well up for that and have adequate gear (quickdraws, harness, shoes, rope).

Olympics television schedule
Has anyone encountered a broadcast schedule online for the upcoming Olympics? I've been searching for the last hour and haven't seen anything other than schedules for the States & NZ, and a general start-time schedule for each sport, with no mention of which networks will be carrying them. They don't appear to be broadcasting any Olympic events whatsoever. Does anyone know which channel is going to carry the events?

Shitoryo karate & Vovinam VIet Vo Dao
Hi everyone! I need to find out if anyone know of a Shitoryo Karate club in Hanoi, even better if it is near the University of Hanoi Campus, if not all karate clubs of other styles will be good too. Secondly, I will be writing a bkgrd history research paper on Vietnamese trad martial arts and another one on Vovinam Viet Vo Dao specifically. Anyone know of any good Viet Vo Dao club that I sld check out? I hope to enrol to have a few Vovinam lessons there.THanks for ur help!!

Ipod. Not working. Frustrated.
Anyone have an idea as to why my ipod would have just hit a 'white screen of death'? That is, the screen light comes on and the ipod plays, however no writing / symbols whatsoever come up on the screen. It's an 8GB mini (no video), about 2 years old.
Problem came about when I connected it to my Mac & aborted syncing the ipod, then tried to import my music from it (without having first installed the special software on my Mac).
I reset it to factory settings & offered to update software (didn't need it, apparently), however this didn't fix the problem. Also tried recharging it, and randomly shaking and yelling at it, however all to no avail.
Before I go to the Mac repair shop here, was hoping someone may have a tip.

Help a child !!!!
Hi all, I have a verry important question. I know a woman who is mad. She can not take care herself. Unfortunately she has six month womb but, she does not know that there are a womb in her body. So I am afraid that the child might be died after he or she is born. Does anyone know what organization can help that child. Any suggestion might save the child'life. Thank in advance.
