My powerbook G4 12" went bonkers and refused to boot again. This time for good. Has anyone seen 2nd hand retailers or spare part dealers for Mac's anywhere around Hanoi ?

We have taken 2 "dead" Powerbook G4s to this shop (details below) and both have been fixed. This is after we had done the usual rounds with Fpt (they have the Mac dealership/repair licence for VN) and others who could not do the repairs and we had given up hope. The shop is not flash (like a lot of the other newer Mac shops), deal only in Mac, have been in business 10 years, but they are excellent. Honest, reliable, reasonable pricing. Update 1. Dropped by the shop and as what Mike said on his post, the shop isn't flashy but they are one of the few retailers that seems to know what they're doing. The lady which attended to me speaks a little English but good enough to understand what I was talking about and took in my powerbook. They are also detailed enough to write down various serial numbers of my mac for tracking. She even asked me if I wanted to have my hard disk drive's serial to be recorded as well. Knowing that opening the 12" powerbook just for the hard disk drive's serial would take a long time. I simply declined as I would trust Mike's recommendation. For now, it's just fingers crossed in hopes it won't cost me a fortune to repair. I'll follow up on this post later.

I had some huge problems with my macbook crashing. The only place that could fix it (with the Apple Care Plan) was the repairshop at Siam Discovery in Bangkok. Let me know if you need the details there...hopefully not!

I've been there to fix my MBP left fan and they did it within an hour, no problem! Actually they opened the laptop and even the fan and cleaned everything... et voila! Just a remark: technicians speak really bad english but showing the fan rpm on istat was enough for them to understand ;)
