Your best bet is to head over to Cho Benh Tanh or Cho Dan Sinh in HCMC.
Though the items you are looking for may be available in Ha Noi, I've never seen them displayed or offered for sale by a street vendor here.
How to tell a copy from the real McCoy?....Tough one. No doubt there are some experts at places like Zippo ( famous lighter manufacturer) who know. Nevertheless,
you may find a gem among the choices at the markets down south.
Good luck!

You'll probably have better luck scrounging garage sales in the States, looking for something the wife mistakenly placed a tag on.
The majority (all?) of the things you'll find are new-ish ones, priced as if they're valuable antiques. As a kid, I played with my Dad's zippos from that time and place in history. They are seemingly much flimsier in construction than the modern zippo lighters - while still solidly built, the metal is of a thinner gauge.

Hi,
I like zippo lighter too. But after my opinion: u can't buy a REAL zippo lighter from the war in Vietnam, u can buy a copy with a price about 30.000-50.000 VND (at the shop will say about 300.000-500.000VND). In Hanoi, u go to the HANG BO street near the HOAN KIEM Lake (Sword lake).
If u want to a real zippo lighter go the shop Zippo Shop at 43 Tue Tinh str., If u cant found this shop , contact me at 55 Van Mieu i will take u there
