Does anyone know if it is possible to rent an automatic motorbike (monthly) and where to do so? I know that is pretty lame, but looking at the streets I think the less I have to think about gears and the more I can think about the traffic the better. Thanks!

You can take your chance with a handful of shops advertised along the Old Quarter. Or a search for "motorbike" here will result in 2 recommendations including one that's setup to be supportive of a good charity organization, Dragon's Children Foundation.

Sure I could give you the full contact, etc.. but that encourages indiligence and laziness :) so click click and more click will yield you the answer.

Yes get down to Andrew at VIP rentals (on this site)- new bikes with centrifugal clutches. Support the Blue dragon charity at the same time.

There's a couple of Motorbike rentals in the old quarters. I'm renting an automatic motorbike Yamaha Nouvo for less than $100 and it's really convenient to get around Hanoi.

A beer in a back alley of Hong Kong.

I should hope it's less than $100. There are places in Hanoi where you can rent a new bike for around $50.
