You can use a friend's credit card for Air Asia- but i think you need a letter of permission or something along those lines to show at the airport. There are details on the Air asia Site- sorry, I can't be bothered to look now, but I'm sure you'll be able to find it.
Weird that the AirAsia outlet won't accept cash. What's the point of having an outlet! If you can only use credit card there then you may as well only have the online service!!
I've bought several tickets online with AirAsia and have never been asked to produce the credit card upon check-in. I have always used my own credit card, but something tells me this would be true even if it were someone else's. Have your friend sit with you while you make the reservation online; they can enter all their credit card info after you plug in all the flight info. It's worth a try to see if it will work online; if it does, I am fairly sure you won't be asked to produce your credit card at the airport. Good luck, A.

Ok..alright boyz & galz, let a malaysian answer this.
It is ok to have someone to purchase the ticket for you online and charged to their credit card. But you have to give whoever is paying your passport/ID number, name as appeared on your passport/ID. That's all you need to do. Upon pruchasing the ticket, an flight schedule booking confirmation will be emailed to whoever is paying the ticket and he/she can forward to you. You can then print it out for your trip.
One thing you have to take note though, sms on flight delay/change will be forwarded to whichever mobile phone number registered.
How it works for me is that my friend will purchase the ticket for me with my details and he will be forwarding all information to me.
As to why they don't accept cash over the counter? I really don"t know, in KL they can do almost everything over the counter but you got to have the patient to wait in line.
Hope it will help
