If you can't locate the hat you are looking for in town, take a short day trip out to Tam Coc. A number of vendors selling a large variety of hats made of natural fibers can be found there. On a previous trip to Tam Coc,( a really beautiful site to see),a fellow traveler bought a yellow straw version of a neat Sola Topee for about two dollars US. Perhaps a Panama hat awaits a purchaser.
