Hi there, I'm moving to Hanoi at the start of September for an indefinite period of time. I have a Business/PR degree and years of experience in sales. I'm looking for work with a fashion/homewares wholesaler, most likely in sales/marketing, however I'm very interested in learning about all aspects of the business. If anyone has any contacts or suggestions on work in this area I would love to hear from you.

As I am coming over on a one month tourist visa, and a position like this may take some time to find, I am thinking of looking for an english teaching position to give me time to settle in, catch my breath, and secure a business visa. I don't have a TEFL certificate, just the Bachelor degree. Would this be enough to get a teaching position?

Cheers! C

If you have a Bachelors in Education, it should not be too much of a hassle. However if you have any other degree you will be better off doing the CELTA teaching course. Most schools (the good ones) require this as a bear minimum.

Thanks for that...I don't think CELTA is in my budget, I may just have to fly by the seat of my pants!!!!!

Dear,

We may offer you a job in our center as an English teacher if you are interested in teaching for early children. If you do not have a Bachelors in Education, we will give you a chance to have some training course first and then, if you pass the test. You can stay with us.

However, we need you work with us at least 6 months. Is it ok?

Hello, thanks for responding to me. I think until I arrive and investigate my options it is hard for me to say whether I could commit to six months. I will keep it in mind though!
